Videos! They’ve been around for, like, ever now. FB Live, YouTube, YT Live, IG Stories, FB Stories, Snapchat…. with more trends on the horizon, I’m sure.
It’s time to start thinking about how you will kick start your video marketing campaign to meet consumer demands on the products they are already buying right now.
So why not have them buy from you?
You already know video is important. But the way videos are being presented is constantly changing because the consumers are constantly changing the different types of experiences they want from videos.
This can make conversions a little tricky.
But once you decide to record videos, you start to get used to doing videos, then you’ll get better and better at knowing what that marketplace is looking for.
That’s when people will start buying whatever you are selling.
Here are three ways to help kick off your higher converting video marketing campaign TODAY.
Tip #1 | You Don’t Need Fancy Stuffs…
You have a smartphone, right? Use it. Nowadays you can upload straight to YouTube, go Live on Facebook, send an IG Story, etc… all from your smartphone.
And all you need is the earbuds with a microphone that comes with every smartphone (at least with Androids, they do).
If you don’t have one, grab these cool noise canceling buds for both Android or iPhone on Amazon.
HOT TIP: Being that you’re going to connect with other people, you want to make good eye contact. Be sure you know where your camera lens is.
Tip #2 | Tounge-Tied?
Hey, I get it. Once that camera is recording, what are the possibilities of messing up? BIG TIME! Heck, I still mess up! Then I use Camtasia to edit out my mistakes. Start your 30-Day Free Trial Here.
But what if you go completely tongue-tied? Can you use a script? Nah. Too obvious.
Instead, do what I do! Let your audience know that you’re reading from your notes! Now THAT’S the kind of obvious you want!
Because it’s letting your audience know that you don’t take them as idiots, but it’s going to distract them anyways which will result in low converting (if at all) videos.
HOT TIP: Just like pointing out an airplane that goes by, you point out the obvious that, “Oh hey. Airplane.” then go back to your content, this is what’s called a pattern interrupt. This keeps your audience hooked to you!
But is there really anything you can do to not get tongue-tied? Not really. Well, with practice it will happen less.
Just know that getting tongue-tied is normal! Just keep your notes handy, edit out mistakes if you want, and be yourself!
Tip #3 | Get Personable…
What is the best and most powerful word you can use when you’re talking to someone? Yes, it’s their name.
But in videos, how do you accomplish this? You’re not going to know who’s watching so the best thing you can do is use the word “you.”
The word ‘you’ makes your content a personal conversation with the person listening. This also goes for reading. For instance, I’m talking to you right now. In fact, I’m right behind you reading along with—okay just kidding. That was creepy. I’m sorry.
HOT TIP: Don’t be afraid of being yourself. Who you are when no one is looking is certainly who you can be when everyone is looking.
Tip #4 | Keep Them Short
Don’t try to cram too much into one video. It can be tempting to do, considering how much work goes into creating one video, but having a long and rambling video will likely result in a major drop-off of engagement.
As a general rule of thumb, I’d recommend keeping videos five to 10 minutes long and centering the topic around three to five well-defined points. Then save all the details for your blog 🙂
HOT TIP: If you have a lot to cover in one subject, break the content up into a video series.
Tip #5 | CTA
There is a point of all this. You being here, learning how to create better converting videos, it’s all about the CTA: Call to Action.
What is your end goal? What do you want your audience to do? At the end of your video, be sure to tell your audience what they need to do.
HOT TIP: Start from your end goal with every video you create, and work your way back into your content.
